"Friday" is my favorite day of the week...

...particularly if it is followed by "Harbor."

At the beginning of August, I decided to take a "sick day" and went to Friday Harbor with two of my friends. Matt's parents have retired to the San Juan islands and currently reside in a lovely house overlooking the Sound and the surrounding islands. It was such a treat to spend the weekend there with Matt and his family and our friend Blake.

We went stargazing, kayaking, whale watching, and hiking. Walked around multi-million dollar yachts at Roche Harbor, ate delicious seafood, walked on the beach and learned about lime production. All-in-all, it was the perfect weekend getaway!
